Default need help =[ losing hope

the other day i went through an ocean of water, i didn't gas it i held the clutch down and turned off the car, (i didn't see the ocean casue the guy infront of me cut his wheel as soon as he was about to hit it) ever since then my car has been annoying the shti outa me, i'm gettin code 9 and iacv , i don't get h ow it would throw a code 9, i checked the wiring, took the distributor and cleaned it, it went away for a while, and then code 9 came back again... it goes away when i reset the computer but comes back, i checked my timing, it is off by like 2 teeth...i'm hoping thats what causing it...i don't wanna dish out anoyther distrib lol help pleaseee

try checking your dist cap and see if theres water in there.. then check the spark plugs

to see if there is moisture in there.. otherwise im clueless on this one... never had an

experience like this.. but if youve tried the then

maybe its cam timing. check the timing marks on the pulley and cam gears. if its still

happening then you may have a bad distributor. if the distributors bad it usally goes

into limp mode and wont rev past 3000 rpm. see if you can borrow a distributor from

somebody and try it to see if thats it. sorry about the double post but i just thought

about that...

i'm guessing water did get it, because it was puffing white smoke, so i took out the spark plugs and cranked the car, nothing came out htough and the plugs were dry, i cleaned them and put them back on...everything was fine then the codes came back, then i checked the timing, timing on the cams was off by like 2 teeth and the crank was off the pully mark by like an inch...so when i get time i'ma do the timing again, i'm not driving the car so i got time.

I am talking about on your floorboard

and if water got in your catylitic converter it will most likely puff out white smoke and smell like rotten eggs

lol water got inside my car! i do not have a cat, the water came in where i had to cut the floor for the shifter cables, felt as if my car was thrown into an ocean
