Default turbocharge a b16a or b18a ls?

both stock motors....going in to a my crx.....

I am going to say hands down the B18. People are making 300+WHP on stock block B18A/B's with a good tune.

I'd say b18 too but I have friends making the same #'s with b16s as well it all depends on the tuning thats all it is tuning the **** out of it

LS is only one map to tune...plus it has some displacement on the b16.

ive seen the same w/b16's i would go w/ the vtec motor but thats just me..

It depends a lot of the tuning. And components of course.

But if same parts and same tuner, you can do the math yourself.

1.8 litres of course. Bigger dispalacement.

Lazy.

I might think the B16 would hold up better stock for stock. Oil squrters might give it an edge when it comes to the combustion chamber temps you'll see with a turbo motor. You could always boost the B18 until it grenades, then boost a B16 and tell us which one you like better.

I (thought I) had heard that a non-VTEC motor was more suitable for forced induction than a VTEC would be, and to keep VTEC motors naturally aspirated...

Well define suitible. They certainly could use the oomph a bit more, that's for sure. And they're cheaper, so if something goes wrong, you're not out a $1000 block.

im all for LS/Turbo but if you can afford it i say LS/Vtec w/Turbo

im currently running B16/Turbo in my other car but i think im going to go with LS/Vtec w/Turbo next

ya that would be sick, i have a b16a in my rex now but iam building the b20vtec turbo next
