ok let me start with you get what you pay for. if you buy cheap intake or headers or exhaust its not going to help your performance. i had my stock motor for almost a year (actually 50 weeks) and i HATED it. it was slow had NO torque and the "vtec" was a joke. i have a b16 right now and my only complaint is there is no torque. but i dont need torque after i go turbo (T- 6 months)

i ahve an hx..its fine for me... it gets me were i need to go. the hrp to weight ratio is pretty good. i do agree that u get what u pay for..i have alot of friends that buy crappy stuff and jsut end up replacing it with the good stuff. as far as a motor swap i dont think i will..i will probably make my car look good and then buy somehting naturally fast. i ahve had my eye on a cobra..a know its not a import but it would kill all. im not talking about the 5.0 im talking about the turbo 4 banger....those things rip down the street

stock motor with an AEM intake. my civic is a dx so its peppy......I have found it depends on the part. I say on certain things like header, cf parts you get what you pay for more than when your talking about strut bars or short shifters. I have apc rear strut bar and a obx short shifter both work great and were like 20-30 bucks each....

I keep it simple and stock looking as a theft deterrant. Stock SOHC w/ I/H/E. Putting my new Clutchmasters clutch and Flywheel in next weekend. Pro Kit, AGX's, Progress rear bar, Beaks kit, ES bushing kit, SS brake lines, Brembos, EBC Green Stuff, short shifter.

As someone who doesn't give 2 sh*ts about 0-60 or 1/4 mile times, the lack of power is not an issue. The car is a blast on twisty roads, for autocrosses and track days. Would I like more power? Yes. Am I willing to put $3-$4K into a $3000 daily driver with 130,000 miles that I've had for almost 6 years? No. Fun on a budget bro, this is it.

YES you are! In fact I have modded my 92 CX doing all but the motor, which is still at the stock 70 hp, yes SEVENTY. The car is still super fun to drive, handles like a dream, and with Sparcos in the car, its incredibly tight and is just fun as possible to sit in and cruise town. Now if I had to autox it... I am sure I would get pissed soon enough with this motor and tranny. But a swap is in the works... B16!

I would say the only bolt-on worthwhile would be an AEM or similar intake. Header/exhaust are pretty expensive and don't do all that much, so just wait until you drop a new motor in there.

Besides, doing suspension and brakes is fun too.

It's not a Cobra, it's a Mustang SVO. Same horsepower as the same year 302 but less torque and better handling. I'd love to have one. Good luck finding one though!!!
