Problems at Sacramento Raceways CMI events
Please read and take action!!!!
Why would/do you defend or support CMI events/toni when they do/allow these things.
1. Makes no effort to stop cheaters. As documented on this web site, many racers get back in line after they have lost. Toni used to check time slips before each round to be sure you are a winner and belongs there.
2. Actively promotes cheating by allowing racers to enter the race after the first round. He does this to collect their $40. This is unfair to all racers.
3. Does not follow his own rules as documented on this site by fellow racers. This is unfair to the racers that do follow the rules.
4. Most employees are rude and unqualified.
5. Provides no trained safety workers in the event of a crash. While there are 1 or 2 EMT's on the site but they are not trained in fire fighting and extrication from a crushed or damaged car. He is putting your life at risk. I know we take that risk when we go racing, but it would be nice to have some help to maybe save our lives in the event of a crash!
6. Provides little or no security in the pits or in the lanes. I know of people that have had things stolen from the pits. Passenger seats, tires, etc. Now I know these things should be locked up, but if there was some security these thing might not happen.
7. Provides no security for things like drinking and drug use at the track by the racers. When racers go down the track after doing drugs and or drinking this puts all of us at risk. I believe the track knows this is going on, but does nothing to stop it.
8. He has children working at the track in all sorts of positions. The kid in the tower doesn't look any older that 12 or 13. He is surly on the P.A. and can't get the dial-in's right half the time.
9. Toni has the EMT's working pulling the lanes or off doing some other job, and that's fine until there is a wreck...then where are they. They need to be in or standing next to the ambulance at all times. Seconds count in a life or death situation. At every other track I have ever been to the EMT's stay with the ambulance. Toni is playing fast and loose with our lives and I for one don't appreciate it.
10. Poor if not any track prep. We pay good money for the right to race there and he should provide us with a good and safe racing surface.
11. Too many times I have see them let cars without proper over flow containers and other issues pass tech. They just say that's OK for this time but get it fixed the next time. Well what happens when their engine overheats and spits water all over the track. Maybe the car spins out of control and then maybe it hits you or me. Our cars could be damaged or totaled and we could be injured. All cars should pass a proper safety tech inspection.
12. Allows kids to operate scooters and golf carts. Someone on this site said it's toni's golf cart that the kids race around the pits on. When these kids hit you or your car or worse yet one of your children you won't think it's OK then.
I have been to other tracks over the years and they are all operated by professionals, not irresponsible adults and surly children like the CMI events at Sacramento raceway.
These are just my opinions but they are serious issues and I believe they should be seriously considered by everyone.
I don't think it's a good idea to support an event that continues to operate in this manner. Instead of defending toni, we should all e-mail the track and ask that these issues be taken care of...I have.
Thanks

You hit the nail on the head. Low budget and poor management. With all of the rules/smog issues in CA it has turned alot of people off from building or wanting to upgrade/race their cars so, the owners and event promoters will do whatever it take to make their money. I love CA and Sac raceway will always have a place in my heart but, I'm sure glad I'm over here on the east coast now. The drag racing scene is like no other over here.

That's not true. I qualify all the time, and pass NHRA tech with flying colors. So do a few other SFWD style cars from Nor Cal. Just not everyone has the money to travel, so they opt not to go down south for a race. And they wind up staying local in Sac.

Didn't race Bakersfield. Was only down there with a couple frineds. Vegas count? Official SFWD event with exhaust. Car was/is built entirely around the NHRA rulebook for that exact reason. So I would NOT have any issues. I have my NHRA weight sticker if you need to see that too.

Here is the email address for the track. jennifer@sacramentoraceway.com
hey "itsallmotorhater" you may want to get your facts straight. I agree the majority of the fast cars are in LA but to say all the cars will get clowned on is a pretty irrational statment. I know the Holland all motor car just went 10.1 with a stock gearing transmission unibody car which I think is respectable. There are a handful of others. But anyways, as for the topic of this post... If we keep complaining instead of helping out, Tony might just cancel the whole CMI thing. I'm sure he doesn't make his living off of it and from the spectators standpoint there probably isn't that much money to be made by the time you pay for staff, equipment, etc... You can't run a million dollar program with a $5 budget. At least he still pays cash unlike the other series that can actually afford it.
Nobody wants a million dollar program, just a safe and sane one. If we don't voice our concerns then nothing will ever change. If your happy, that's fine but a lot of us aren't.
norcal is the **** man!! im a socal guy and when i raced up there AT CMI ,YES THE TRACKWAS ALITTLE FUCKED UP and tech is a joke, and emr nowhere to be found is a problem but what can you do thank these guys for even letting us use there track ....remember this track makes records since 93' guy,lo and danny and all the other guys i meet there were great man.and they do NOT GET CLOWNED ON EXCEPT BY ME!!!J/K GUYS.. those guys are the **** .thanks for the help and de bbq dog...see you guys in pomona i might be there with something for all you *****
They are not "letting" us use their track...they are charging us to use their track. There is a big difference. I am sure they are doing this for money...not out of the kindness of their hearts.
know i havent gone up there in a minute but yes safety first!! all sssssoooo the cheating is a big problem too but hey got to live with it for now until nhra goes back up there for sonoma .i think it will be on the agenda for 06

Instead of "living" with it at sac raceway, lets do something about it.

i've raced cmi for years now even lots of wens nights haven't really had a problem with anyone or the techs. track prep sucks but it sucks when they use to have the governor cup races their to, and cars there run 6's and 7's all day it's just not a cmi problem. bottom line is sac is'nt the only place to race if you fill like your not getting a fair shake you can always race at sears point on Wednesdays.
