But in the rear mount first. Stick a bolt through and thread it in a little bit. Work of the other two later. I had the same problem putting in my B20 a few weeks ago. After we got the back one in, we worked on the tranny mount then the d/s mount. There no way to get around it. Don't stay pissed off because it only wastes time.

welll, lower your motor in the bay and then take that rear bracket, loosely bolt it to the rear mount and THEN start matingit up with the tranny/motor side...hope this helps..good luck

Do you guys have the rear motor mount on the motor already before you lower it into the car

That doesn't make any sense at all. If you do that, you'll have to steer the whole motor and transmission into the engine bay trying to line up two holes! Not to mention you still got to get the two bolts in. Bolt the mount onto the rear x-member first and then try line it up between the backet on the back of the engine. Not easy, but much easier.

Why in the world are you lowering the motor into the car????? it is SOOOO much easier to lower the car onto the motor. Also there is a bracket that bolts to the intake manifold and engine block that basically supports the intake manifold but unless you have monkeys jumping up and down on your manifold then this bracket is not needed. It bolts to the right side of the oil filter and has that little black emissions box that looks like a thick can of sardines, if you remove this bracket it makes getting that rear mount in soo much easier. When the engine is in the bay unbolted from any motor mounts lean it foward enoough to slide in the rear mount then run a bolt the the mount on the subframe, you can run a bolt the the motor and rear motor mount once you have the timing belt side and trans side mounts in. I hope this helps, this is the most common way to swap in these motors

i already have the intake manifold support off but i am still having problems, when you drop your motor in do you not have that motor mount attached to anything first?

heres what i did. bolt the rear mount bracket (you know, the integra piece) to the engine, along with the drivers side mount. the rear mount should be bolted to the rear crossmember at this time. slowly drop the motor in until you line up the rear mount with the bracket and bolt it up. then you deal with the other two mounts. when i did mine it didnt seem to dificult. went in easier then the d series came out thats for sure. good luck mang.

When the motor is in the engine bay it should be on a pallet or a tire or something to cushion it, this way you can rock it foward enough (easier with 4 hands) to finagle the motor mount in. It takes some working it in but it really is not that bad if you are setup like I was by lowering the car onto the motor, I had a lift though and I know some people don't. If you have a cherry picker you can lift the car high enough to slide the motor under and when you drop the car over it you will be able to move the motor around. Just make the L-shaped rear mount the first one you install when the motor is in the enginebay. ***it's not that hard*****I promise.
