need help for my 96 civic
im a real noob when it comes to cars
anyways. . .what is the noise that comes on when before you start a manual civic? its like a humming noise when the key is in the on position, and what is it. I am asking this question because when i moved my car last night a wire was sticking out from under my dash and i accidentally stepped on it and disconnected it. My car still starts, but no longer makes that sound. I see the end of the wire, but i have no idea were to plug it to, the wire said main gauge 18 or something like that. Any help would be great

Untill someone more knowedgeable comes along, I suggest this. Get a freind and have him touches the wire to the battery listen to where its coming from. It should come from the fuel pump. Not sure why that wire would be under your dash though. The only thing I hear is my fuel pump gettin ready to feed the beast.
