He could even do a K20A3 swap, as many of these floating around at the price i have seen them for, it would be a great improvement over stock, and leave the door open for a head swap or a short block swap.

you are right. with the right amount of money, ANYTHING is possible. it will just take a little more time, money and effort.
to the OP: if you want to do it, it can be done. simple as that. there are really no impossibilities with cars, especially hondas.

Yea there was a time when people thought the K20A wouldnt fit in the 7th gen civic. Then after that was done, it was the B-series that couldnt fit...that too was proven wrong. The idea of putting an H22 in the 7th gen isnt completely unrealistic...but if you are looking to spend less than $13K+ then I would just do a K20A, A2 or A3 swap, maybe even a K24 of some sort.
