Default boosted d16z6 overheats

hey my problem is that when i boost my overflow tank spills out coolant everywhere in my engine bay...i did a compression test and i get 225 accross the board but i thought it might still be my head gasket so i changed it and still the same thing...then i took my thermostat off and tried it with that still no luck

are you using your stock radiator? Sometimes they can't handle the extra heat. Ever thought of upgrading to an aluminum rad?

if the above to posts dont solve your problem - get a new radiator- stock ones maybe work fine if in good condition, but yours probably just isnt up to par. Especially if previous owners got happy with their local Autozone "radiator stopleak", as I found out when I redid my cooling system. You could go fluidyne or something- but I got one of these, and I've been rocking cool temps for over a year now on my b16-

IMHO,get one of those and drain /flush your block completely (undo the drain bolt in your block, usually right below your exhaust manifold)

dude you have a blown head gasket, its the worst that could happen. i had the same problem few weeks ago and it keep on overfilling. so i changed it out and still it didn't work. i also changed thermostat, radiator cap and i have a new del sol radiator. i got 185 across the board w/ compression it that didn't tell me very much either.

what fan do you use with that radiator? Do you use stock fan (can it even fit?) or the thin fans they sell?

Thanks!

radiator cap? stoopid as it may seem, but it's a cheap thing you could check.

amazingly enough it's recommened you change radiator caps once a year. most of the time nothing goes wrong, but there are those few exceptions where the cap goes bad, and yeah.

my friends 240 was an exception and costed him two motors.

my vote. I thought the EXACT same thing. Blown headgasket. Went out bought a new HG, the old one was perfect. I was running 7psi as well

your head is lifting.

get some arp studs, oem headgasket, and copper spray.. youll be golden then.

hell this is like a golden rule to boosting honda engines...

most likely.. your head is lifting... time for new HG, arp studs, and resurface the head

same thing happened to me at 7psi but the coolant never made its way out the overflow container and it never overheated.

Sometimes I wonder why bother if people arent even going to listen to or read what you write. Does it really take 4 people to say this before people will get a clue....
