I Learned Something Yesterday
A Grand Am Porche GT3 passes an ITA CRX so fast on the front straight at Roebling Road that you can't even get behind him fast enough to get a good draft pull.
As a side I have to give a big thumbs up to Jon K's Seat Time organization. They ran a clean show with LOTS of track time for $150.
We got 7 (SEVEN) 20 minute sessions yesterday. We couldn't remotely use all of them. We were too tired and the car was getting burned to the ground.

You sure about that?
Thats pretty close to the SSC track record, and the DX isn't even a good SSC car (the Si is an SSC car). Thats even a fairly decent ITA (H4) time.
So... If you really were going that fast, you need to be a race car driver or something.

Maybe you need to put the Si parts back in that Civic and go SCCA SSC National racing.
SSC Record at Roebling is a 1:26 by the guy who won the runoffs a couple of years ago. If you're within a second of that in a stock DX... Well...

Somewhere there is video of me in the MarshPoint Motorsports EP CRX from a few years ago at Roebling (1:19s) I run down a street 911 TT, and pass him as I approach the start/finish When we would show it off people would always say. "HOLY ISH, you just passed a 911 TT..!!!" then a 996 Turbo LM car (whichever one had the randy owens paint scheme on it) just blows my doors off. its a great example of how fast some of those cars are... The scary part is, think of how the LMP cars go by those Porsches....
(my favorite part about driving the LMP.. watching the GT Porshes just shrink in the mirrors leaving corners)
Thanks for the kind words about SeatTime guys, yesterday we had a good day, thank you guys for coming out and I am glad you guys had a lot of fun.
November should be another good day, I am hoping that the weather is cool but not wet and we can have a good last event of the year.

I'm still just glad that I didn't have to run with those GT3's

for Jon and Seat-Time. Absolutely the best bang for the buck of any DE organization that I'm familiar with.
Scott, thanks again for the input on car setup and for giving me some lap times to work towards. Next time you're in the car, I'm hoping that it'll at least have the FD and LSD... maybe even a set of revalved shocks.

Kind of like me getting passed in the STi by a GT2 before the braking zone. At least a 20-30mph closing speed, it was cool.
We'll be there in November trying to break the T2 track record on stock shocks

I enjoyed it greatly.
The car is missing some goodies, but its a good piece of equipment. Richy did a fine job putting it together and I'm looking forward to driving it again. Hopefully I'll actually be able to reach the pedals next time (no, Scott didn't stop to think that he's 5'10 and both Christian and Richy are well over 6 feet
).
Condensed version - Thats one hell of a good $7500 you spent right there.
Easily an ITA mid-packer as it sits, a frontrunner with a couple thou more invested.
Scott, who hasn't been in a CRX in a while and kind of forgot about that whole thing about needing quick hands to keep the rear in the rear. I remembered pretty quickly... Like lap 2 in turn 5.
"OK, I'm awake now."
