Default CRX w/ VTEC-E

I was wondering if anyone has tried this combonation. This would obviously be for the super economy not to bring out more power. Since the CRX comes with D series I figured it would it should be rather straight foward. I figure the engine would bring out more mpg than it does in the vx or hx since the CRX is so light. I was just thinking about this when I saw a hybrid and thought how overrated they are.

yea it will work, my homie has that in his car right now and runs frine. a lil quick even. Its made for economy but it still is vtec. 12 valve till like 2500 or sumthin, 16valve till 5200 then vtec. it will work just fine

If it hits normal vtec at 5200, that would make it a 3-stage jdm d15b, wouldn't it?

In any case, it works. Bunger has on here a 88 hf with a d15z1, and that's like the perfect combo. Somewhere in the future I'm looking to swap in the d15z1 also, but first I'm going auto to manual.

Isn't there a second VTEC-E motor that comes out of the HX?

Bunger said a while ago high 50s low 60s, though I'm sure you can push it higher with a few other modifications, especially with that engine.
