Hey guys,
I have a 10" miter saw that I got from ACE hardware. I also have 3 fiber reinforced cutting disks for it. I've read that people dont like using these types of saws for cutting their metal, but no one said why. I was just wondering if it would be ok to use to fab up my exhaust.
For my catback I have the K-teller piping kit, so I'll only be making 4 cuts to the piping to get it to the right length. For my cat all I have to do is weld the flanges on and drill and weld on my O2 sensor bung, so no cuts there. But my DP and DT and is where I'm gonna be doing the most cutting.
-for the DP I will have to cut a U bend in half
-one half of the U bend will be the bend that goes under the oil pan...I will probably have to trim some metal off the ends
-other half will be welded to the DP flange. but I will need to trim some metal to make it mate up to the DP flange at a 90-120 degree angle.
-then I will have to make 1 more cut to a piece of 3" pipe to get it to the correct length to go from my flex section to my forward cat flange
-then of course there's all the cutting I'll have to do for the DT piping
Since I'm only making a few cuts do you guys think I'll be ok with using my miter saw?
TIA
