Default Think my plate location is illegal...

Ordered the DOT-approved fender eliminator and ended up getting this one instead. I liked the way it looked in the box so I decided to get it installed. The plate was put in the wrong place with the upper holes mounted on the lower screws but I wanted to take a pic before I fixed it. I'm not even convinced the designed location of the plate isn't going to get me a ticket. Too late to change my mind now.

Is that the competition werks FE?

I had one on my 600RR and the plate was a bit higher but not much and I never got stopped with it in the 6000 miles I owned it. At least 2000 of them were in populated areas as well.

My plate is held on by zip ties. Havn't gotten pulled over yet. *Knock on wood*

it kinda looks like they just used the wrong holes? looks like the top holes of the plate are mounted to the bottom holes on the bracket.

Personally i'd fix it. Most cops out there can be lenient, but with luck you might get stuck with the *******. It's not worth the hassle...Just fix it.

I also say fix it. I don't however think you would get pulled over for it.

Depends on the cops where you live. In socal you'd definately get pulled over for it.

Thats trueI rode my bike through la jolla for a long time w/o a plate and only got pulled over once and he just checked my registration and let me go but all my friends with fender eliminators with their plate in awkward spots all got fix it tickets. Hahaha.

944 Cup race with NASA

It wasn't bad, good turn out. There was quite a bit of drama this weekend but nothing I really feel like going into right now. I finished 4th of 16 both days.

I have mine tucked in pretty well in the fender eliminator...I have been pulled over about 4 times or so. Never for the plate or even a mention of it. Luckily I have talked my way out of every ticket for speeding etc. ::knockin on wood:: and I live in Cali too.. ::continues to knock on wood::

Finally got to see your bike over the weekend, nice Bike. Have someone drive in a car following you and see if they can read your plate in its new location. I know you probably already fixed it though.

Last night when I got home from Summit. Now I know why they put it where they did... the holes were a bitch to get to.
