ECU to engine questions
OK to keep it brief because I can get long winded
I have a:
Motor Type: D15B
Displacement 1493
Power 130HP @ 6800 RPM
Torque 14.1kg/m @ 5200
Compression 9.6:1 ratio
Bore 75
Stroke 84.5
Cam SOHC V-TEC
Origin 1991-1999 Civic VTi (EG4)
That was put in the car and now has 30k miles on it.
The ECU is a PM5 and its ODB-0 and is non- vtec
I plan on upgrading to a ODB-1
First question: what ECU do I need. I plan in the future to go with a D16Z6 and a zex 59300 cam. In the mean time I am staying stock but want to start learning custom ECU programming.
Second question: If my engine is a SOHC V-TEC and the ECU is non-V-TEC, why am I not getting any error lights and how much power am I loosing using what I would guess is the wrong ECU?
thanks again,
Mike
