Question about HP gains in my 02 EX Coupe
Im just curious how much HP I can can with basic bolt ons such as intake, exaust or whatever. I know it comes with 127hp stock, but can I up it to about 140 with basic bolt ons? If not, how much gains can I expect from like a CAI? I'm not looking to race my car or anything, I just want some extra oomph in my driving. Not looking for turbo, and I hate loud exausts.
you won't make much. stock you'll run give or take 100whp, basic I/H/E bolt-ons will give you max ~10whp, and that's on a lucky day.
besides you'll mess up your power band.

So the best bet is to just keep it stock? How much HP will CAI alone give me? 2 horsepower? lol

I would work on the suspension and lower the car if it isnt already with a quality strut/shock/spring combo. I would also try to lighten the car with some carbon fiber(hood and trunk),lightweight battery and wheels and whatever else you can think of. That should make the car a bit quicker.

well i'd keep it stock personally, if i got an intake i would probably mash my pedal more often to feel the "power".
pretty much, 2 whp on a lucky day
. i've seen some dynos where a CAI alone messes up the low end power band, so to be honest it isn't worth my concern unless you seriously have some internals and get some real tuning.
simply put, it isn't really a concern if you're not racing...

Yeah, my old 99 DX coupe was lowered ( it was my bros old car and came like this). I remember it handling much better than my current car which is not lowered. Im not sure if this was the lowering, or the fact the older civics came with double wish bone suspension. I hate how my car sways when I took even the smallest corners. Im not sure if I want to go through all of that right now since the car is pretty much new. Then if I go to sell it and its lowered it will be worth less .

I too would recommend keeping it stock, unless you plan on boosting it. But im concerned with what you are talking about with getting internals(i assume sleeves, pistons, rods?) on a N/A motor?????????? May be in your wildest dream could a N/A D17 ever need internals

there are cams for the D17 and there's a video with the stage 2 N/A crower cam. it idles pretty rough, sounds pretty sick i have to admit, and it's probably the best performance mod out there for the N/A D17.
only for those who wish to build up their D17 of course.
