Default new wheels, umm new lugs also?

hey guys

i picked up a new set of wheels today, but apparantly the old stubby lugs dont work.

1) they are too big in diameter
2) they are too short in length.

are there special lugs im supposed to buy?

i hope i do not need longer wheel studs. let me digress.
(the top and bottom line is a wheel hole where the stud goes by, and the line inside is the wheel stud)

there are tuner lugs out there right?

What lug nuts do I need?
12x1.5 - Stock wheels use an acorn/ball/radius style, aftermarket wheels use a tapered/conical/tuner style. No, it is not safe to mix and match (stock wheel with tuner lugs or vice versa), the contact between the lugnut and the wheel will be insufficient, putting undue stress on them and potentially causing failure.

ive seen that picture 02938402384 times, and for good measure, its even on the tire rack FAQ. i have read the forum rules and FAQ's, clearly, you cant come to the right conclusions.

im wondering if i need new wheel studs.
after googling some and surfing thru the a/c forum i found out that i needed lugs that looked like these http://img419.imageshack.us/im...w.jpg
