Default For Sale allowances? VOTE or POST!!!

I don't know if this has been covered recently, but I just stopped in again and saw a few threads regarding for sale links and such here.

First, the H-T Marketplace is THE WORST forum ever. Coupled with the less than ideal search engine, I don't even try looking in there anymore. It would make sense to at least break it down smartly like they did for the sponsor forum. i.e. Suspension, Engine, Interior, etc. We all know that that will probably never happen

So, lets concentrate on the possibility of a place for the FEW who do want to sell something and don't want to pay for S2Ki privileges or whatever. I heard people whining about not wanting to see for sale posts littering the S2000 forum. I'd much rather see that then the other stupid threads. Since it's pretty hard to drive away the stupid posts, at least allowing for sale posts would make them fade away faster. Besides, most people put FS: in front of the topic, so DON'T CLICK IT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE IT! It's not that hard of a concept.

I don't see how allowing for sale posts would hurt at all. It's also much easier to search this forum than the pointless Marketplace. So, here's a poll. Vote for or against some sort of classifieds. Voice your opinion, too. The ITR forum, last I checked, allowed links to classifieds. Maybe a single thread to post in? I don't know, but there is some way to do this. I feel in a leadership mood.

I agree, the marketplace is useless right now. I think the marketplace should be broken down into make/model for cars and for parts. Maybe a section for wheels or universal parts.

Yeah, I agree, also. The marketplace does need organization. Not only make/model for cars/parts, but location is important as well. I think it'd be a good idea to have for sale threads here again. At least try it out for a month and see how it does...

I think there should be a thread stickied here. Everyone can post their stuff for sale there. It has to be S2K related, no bumping or saying like nice parts, blah blah. It will be a strict post your stuff for sale, people must contact seller by pm. Once item is sold, delete your post. How's that sound?

As it stands now, FS threads will be deleted by mods as its against the rules.

For me, that'd be too much hassle and a waste of time to sift through all the posts. Search would be useless and I could see the thread going 20+ pages. That's a lot of posts. You can try it out, but I don't think it'll work too well.

It seems like the only decent solution. If we allow FS threads, i am pretty sure about half the front page will be all FS. Nobody wants that.

When Fs threads were allowed or even links, thats the problem that arose. Literally every other thread was a FS. Thats why vapor and mase changed the rules to what they are now

Hmm... I would suggest a sub-forum, but it'd probably be more of a fit at the H-T Marketplace. Oh, well, I'll just sit back and see what happens.

Agreed. Unless someone just created an "open" sticky for sale post, where anyone could post up what they are selling.

haha so thats why you post in ever thread...i will admit i've clicked on your thread a couple times...but I would also agree no for sale posts allowed. But I do think a seperate S2000 for sale thread could be made in the marketplace

I defenatly agree with having a sub-forum for s2k classifieds. 90% of the h-t marketplace is ruled by civic/inetgra stuff so most of the time its pointless for us to surf it.

FS threads in links dont work for people like me that dont bother to read poeple sig's

Nice shameless plug. Don't make me tell Nishant.

Thanks but no thanks on the exhaust; going custom again.

we have covered this numerous times.

To the people who need to sell items, sure its a great idea to them.

but to the forum as a whole, it takes away from the technical background from the forum.

it turns this forum into a for-sale forum, and im not gonna let that happen again.

sorry.
