Anyone have OEM body kit?
I just got my body kit painted and installed on my 99' Clover green GSR. Looks awesome!! There's just this one thing...on the sides and back (2 piece) there is this black rubber gasket/piping that runs along the edge of it. Is is supposed to be exposed like that, or is it supposed to be painted as well, or should it be tucked in somehow. I remeber seing a white GSR with the OEM body kit, and I am almost certain taht I would have noticed the black gasket/piping. Any clues??
If you're really that **** about a little rubber strip, just get some touch-up paint and paint it (while its off the car of course)
Good Luck,

these little black rubber seals bothered the **** out of me on the back...so i took a razor blade and cut them off as carefully as i could...but, i left them on the sides because it didnt look that bad, and i didnt want to damage the metal. i just thought the back stood out too much with the black strip against my white car, and there were holes already in the bumper, so i figured a little more rubbing damage when i took them off wouldnt hurt.
Ok, so it is normal, cool. I just wanted to make sure that body shop guy installed it properly.
FYI I got it painted and installed for $450, everyone else was saying $550+, but I cut a deal with the guy. Someone actually gave an estimate of like $925. RETARD!
Yeah I might cut the stripping off with a utility knife. I was thinking of painting them because I have the touch paint from the shop, but I it would be a PITA to remove the pieces and paint them.

b4 I put them on, I stripped the black part off and then put them on. they come off pretty easy.

God, I really miss my OEM kit sometimes. IT was simple, clean, and polyeurothane! Anyways because of a little accident I had gotten into, I decided to get a Buddy Club kit for my 98 GSR. But I really do miss my old OEM kit man...
Oh yeah I am from Chi-Town also! If you ever see a white GSR with a Buddy Club kit and a bigass FMIC, it is most likely me. Especially when it is shooting fireballs outta the tailpipe! ;p
