be more specific, tie rods are on all cars, they are attached to the steering rack and are adjustable to change toe settings. Never heard of a tie rod brace, are you refering to some sort of tie bar and not tie rod? Or are you refering to radius rods?

Robster,

He is refering to the lower tie rod brace that connects to the subframe in the rear of the car between the lower control arms.

oh yeah the lower tie bars work wonders stiffening your chassis, reducing the bending of the chassis, I have the spoon bars on my car frond and back and I can definitely feel more steering response when I make quick lane changes. Go to http://www.redlyne.com, I bought mine there and it worked out to just a little over $200 per rod. Good luck!

ummm, there aren't tie rods in the back of the car, there are chasis braces (aka strut bars, and some people call them tie bars, but not rods, that would be like calling a piston rod a connecting piston.

Since you insist on getting so technical here (everyone else knows what he is talking about)

There are strut bars or braces that go on top of the shock (our cars dont have struts) mouting posisitions front or rear.
Then there are LOWER TIE BARS. These TIE the lower LCA mounting points together be it it the front or the rear.

lower tie bar ... stiffen the LCA mounting points ..

here is the example of dc one ...

a strut bar ( civics dont have struts .. what should we call them then ? damper mounting point stiffener ? )

an example also from dc sports ..

Lower tie bars are absolutely worthless unless you are seroius about suspension and you are going into AutoXing.

get all of your bars front/rear upper and lower, and add a strong bar.then get some nice z rated tires a nice 19-22mm rear sway and then you can take a corner a 60 and still have your foot floored! thats the way to go....and yea rear lower and front lowers make your car handle very nice.but steer clear of dc if at all possible.

They work good but make sure you get the rear strut brace/upper damper mounting point stiffener. If you don't it will cause the upper rear sheetmetal to flex which will caue the paint to get little wrinkle crack type things. It will also be really loud and make you think you just tore out your subframe when you hit the next slow speed bump(driveway bottom) at just the right angle.

That's interesting, first i got my rear lower tie bar, then a tie bar for the front, and guess what, I PERSONALLY did not feel a difference so i sold them both. If you want noticable suspension impovements, go with sway bars.

Yep get a rear sway bar first then go from there. This will give you more then any strut or tie bar ever thought about.

That would just throw the car's balance off. If you do sway bars, do front and back at the same time.

Why? you already have one up front stock...it should even it out if anything.
