DOT approved/s-55 as well as ECE 22-05 'International Helmet Standard Approved for Professional Racing'

"SAFETY: The Vemar helmets are DOT and 22-05. If you're interested in our take on 22-05 please click HERE. To summarize, we feel the 22-05 standard is excellent, and gets our nod over SNELL for motorcycle applications."

They retail for $850 a piece.

nice gear.

def overboard on the carbon fiber helmet. $800 **** I'd return it and get a back protector & pocket the difference. You seem to have covered everything else well.

No gloves!? You ******* squid.

I love my TZ-1, so much nicer once the leather loosens up and starts breaking in. Its nice when the arms loosen up and elbow/forearm arm isnt grinding into your elbow.

I regret not buying the 2 piece suit to begin with. I'll end up buying the track pants and some SMX's or the like this winter and keep my A* Twin leather pants for local cruising.

How much lighter is the Vemar compared to your Shoei?

There is nothing wrong with going overboard on gear, you are just increasing your survial rate.

Yup.. $2000 or more is not uncommon. Shiyet. Some Dainese suits alone cost more than that.

Spending OVER 2K for street gear is a waste, for tracking on the other hand...

That's all relative. Some can afford to.. and some can't. I'll buy the best gear I can afford.

...........

Its worth every ******* dollar.

But hey, if you value spending time in the hospital having dead skin peeled off your limbs and your legs broken and re-set because your shins snapped in half, by all means, ride in shorts and sneakers.

Oh yeah, medical bills dont cost that much anyways.

I dont think you got what I was trying to say. Spending money on gear is a MUST for the street and track. But I just dont understand how someone can spend OVER 2k on gear just for the street. Unless you have multiple jackets/lids and buy all dianese.

But you can use the same gear on the street AND track. Do we need to have special gear for the track? I just assume "PrecisionH23a" already has gloves, but eveything he pictured he can use on the track as well as the street. Maybe he plans on going to the track later, or he already does and just didn't mention it in his post?

Maybe I'm confused?

I ride a lot of street... but I'll be doing mountain riding soon and I'm going to get involved with track riding as well.

As for gloves... I was sent the wrong pait. I'm going to get A* gloves with the CF/Kevlar knuckle covers. They actually sent me some gloves that look like damn ski gloves.

Nice helmet!

I'm not sure how it is for other riders here, but I cannot stand using my one-piece on the streets. If I have to take a leak, it's impossible to get in and out of in a quick and efficient manner. And let's not get into #2.

I use a separate jacket/pants combo for spirited street riding.

Putting together "my list" was depressing. I stopped counting after 3 g's. This sport gets expensive...

I don't even want to go digging for receipts, I'll get to depressed.

I am planing on spending easily $1500-2000 for a custom Vanson in a few weeks. That should bring my total up near $4000 on gear maybe?

Good to see your gearing up Precision, once you get used to it all you'll never want to go back.
