Aux In Connector Source? (2006 Civic)
Hey there... I'm looking to buy the six pin connector as found on the accessory end of the Honda factory aux in connector as found in a 2006 Civic (and likely other models). In the PDF found here in step 10 (page 4) one can see the connector.
I'd like to build some custom iPod line in adapters, and the only connector I'm unable to source is this one. I came across this site which has six-pin Hitachi connectors, but I'm not sure if they are the right ones. If anyone can point me to an appropriate place to order these -- even in quantity -- it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Why not get the Honda one, take it to your local electronics supply stores and see if they can match it up with raw plugs and pins, I have done so on more then one occasion, LA Vera, B&E electronics or Nedco have come through every time so far, you may even be able to return the Honda one.

I could, and then just thumb through a Mouser or Digikey catalog finding the part, but the actual aux in kit costs around $50. Also, I've got a 2006 Civic EX on order, and I want to have the connector here so that I can build the adapter as soon as it shows up.
I'm thinking that I'm just going to have to wait until I get the vehicle, pull out the current aux in and find the appropriate connector. I'll just use a 3.5mm <-> 3.5mm until then, I guess.
For what it's worth, I've already got some iPod dock connectors, and I plan on building a harness which will nicely connect the iPod to both a keyed 12v line and the factory aux in. Then I'll just build / adapt an iPod holder, and it'll all be securely -- and professionally -- installed.
