You can buy a 2004 for $9000, and you want to sell it? I'm missing something
If you insist, probably between 12500 and 15000 depending on milage and equipment.

Wow, $9k??? That's ridiculous!
Is your friend's cousin mentally ill? Why would anyone sell a car that cheap?

You can make some serious easy money!
to you if this goes through!

I used ZIP 90510 Torrance, California: These are Private Party Values
This is with just the standards with 9000 miles on LX trim (automatic, 4cyl).

Fair Condition: $15,835
Good Condition: $17,125.
Excellent Condition: $18,240.

According to EPA.gov, lx, automatic should get: city 24 and highway 34.

I would keep it I were you, but its your decision.
Hope this helps.

Nice way to stab a friend in the back. They are probably selling it to you rather than trading because they consider you a friend.

Keep the bloody thing.

If I had to guess... I'd say that this girl is one of those people with the mentality that they will always have a car payment, thus dumping this car at no loss to her would let her pick up a brand new vehicle for the same car payment. Yes, the car is worth more than $9,000, doesn't matter to her because she is looking strictly at the monthly payment.

True story: a friend of mine went through a divorce about five years ago. They had two cars, one of which was a car worth about $5,000 and was paid off, the other car was worth about $15,000 but they had just broken even on it, so they owed $15,000 on it. His now ex-wife wanted the $15,000 car because it was nicer and agreed to give him the $5,000 car without him having to pay her anything. In fact, I think that she thought that she came out on the better end of the deal because she walked away with a $15,000 car while he had a $5,000 car. In her mind, she would always have a car payment so she wanted the nicest car she could get.

For the original poster, at least ask "are you sure you want to do this?" or possibly "I'll go with you to the dealer and will give you what they want to buy it from you for" (which may very well be how she came up with the $9,000).

That's a basic steal dude. If I didn't already practically have a junk yard full of cars, I'd wanna go all the way out there to buy it (and if I had the money). My cousin has an '03 EX. I must say, I am very impressed with it. If the car isn't totaled, I'd keep it and drive it myself but thats just me. In my opinion, those are some of the best everyday drivers but do as you wish. Just givin' you another opinion.
