Hey you guys on here that I've seen with black, unpainted front bumpers, which I assume are new ones, where do you get them? Are they new OEM Honda or are they an aftermarket copy? If it's a copy does it have the INTEGRA logo embossed like stock?
I'm going to get my front end repainted here soon, and right now all the little pieces inside the grille on my 2000 front bumper are cut out, and it's cracked on one side, torn on the bottom (ITR lip covers that), and we had major problems painting the area with the logo (on the previous paint job, the INTEGRA wasn't sanded properly and the new paint didn't stick properly and it just looks horrible).
So I'm thinking either just go ahead and keep my bumper, fill in the logo, and paint over it (not really what I want to do) or try to find a brand new bumper that hasn't been painted yet.
Or another question, for you guys who have re-painted a 98+ front bumper (when doing the 98+ conversion or changing the color or whatever), how in the hell do you sand the sunken areas in side the letters so that the new paint will stick properly? We had a real tough time with that when painting my car last year.

actually aftermarket ones fit oem. they do have the integra word on them. its just that they aren't urethane. more like ABS plastic but with flexibility.
i havent seen one that had the integra embossed on it.
but yeah, i have a aftermarket one the the fit is perfect. even the wings west lip fits perfectly on it.
no problems here.
but i am upgrading to a 98 front soon.
getting oem, cuz the embossed integra looks better then the one w/o it.

The reason I was thinking of getting a brand new OEM bumper is just so that when it's painted, it will be the first coat of paint to go on it, instead of painting over previous paint, which can affect the way the INTEGRA logo looks.
Brand new 98+ OEM bumper = $249 from acuraautomotiveparts.org... not too too bad I guess.

any competent body prep man can sand the integra logo properly and have the paint stick properly as well. prep is key.

Yeah, on the 2000 bumper I got, the previous paint job was not done properly and the paint on the logo looked pretty bad. It was pretty much impossible to get it right, and it looked even worse after we painted it again.
I was thinking of getting a brand new unpainted bumper just so I wouldn't have to go through the time and trouble of trying to find JUST a bumper from somebody on here (don't need headlights or turn signals or anything else).

I don't know why anybody uses any other online acura parts store apart from http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/home.jsp <-- It seems to have cheaper prices and lower shipping cost, I think the 98+ bumper costs 250 shipped.
please feel free to stroke my ego and tell me "thank you Jorge" if you find yourself using this site.

Their price is $234 for the bumper, being shipped from Florida. I'm in Memphis so I usually from Acura Carland because they're outside ATL so shipping would probably be a little less, maybe.

OEM you won't regret it!! Although I notice that your not trying to dump alot of money into a car that has 200k mileage but OEM is worth it in the long run
On the other hand JDM CarBoy has some replica's although I am not sure about the fitment.

Just an FYI, you can get the '98+ front bumper from http://www.oemacuraparts.com for $220.09.

And they charge $150 to ship body parts!!!!!!!
located in Phoenix AZ too, way too far away... I would probably stick with Acura Carland near Atlanta.

That won't work. I don't know of any Dremel tool that would be able to get the paint out without leaving either a very rough or a gouged surface inside the letters, which would look very bad when re-painted.
The main reason why it came out so bad on my front bumper is because the previous coat of paint wasn't done correctly, either. My rear bumper didn't have any problems w/ the lettering. The new coat of paint looked fine.

use some double sided tape and tape a really small piece of sandpaper to a bent screwdriver and use it to get at the embossed letters. Also be generous with the primer when it goes on.
I had the "Integra" shaved from my bumpers, but it was more of a preference thing.

I was also thinking of filling in the letters, but IMHO it kind of "cheapens" the look. I guess it's because non-OEM bumpers don't have the letters.
But I'll probably still get a new bumper (if I can get it at a decent price w/o getting **** raped on shipping) just because mine is pretty busted as it is w/ the grill all cut out, cracked on the sides because of curb-kissing, etc.

good price, but I can't seem to find on the website where the place is located. I won't buy anything from a company that won't disclose their location.
