Default B16 Tranny in a GSR

I was thinking JDM FD when I thought, why not just do ITR gearing. Then I saw the ITR and B16's (Si and Del Sol) have the same gear ratios. So I called around and got prices for an ITR 2nd and 3rd gear. Well a buddy told me I can just swap my GSR tranny for a Si tranny for free!! So I called the one shop in town that does hybrids and LS/VTEC's and they have lots of Si trannies laying around. The owner said I should keep my GSR tranny. They put GSR trannies in all their Civic's. (Mostly LS/VTEC's) He said if I really wanted to, he had a 2000 Si tranny he would trade me.
I also have an ITR LSD I want to install. He said it would go right into my GSR tranny, but the ITR LSD might not fit in the Si tranny.

So what the heck should I do? Should I get the Si tranny? Does the LSD fit?
I have a 7lb flywheel, I drag race, and AutoX. And my car is my daily driver.

B16 tranny is the same thing as the ITR minus the LSD.

No, the LSD will not fit in the B16A transmission.

didn't you ask the same fuking question in Tech? Ask one place at a time and wait for an answer. I realize some idiots don't know the right answer, but someone will respond with the correct answer.

An ITR differential will fit in a B16A tranny. Not taking sides, just listing the facts.

Yes I did ask the EXACT question (copy-paste) in 2 forums, because there are totally different people in each forum. I appreciate your answer in the other forum, but I could do without this comment. And it looks like I do have more experience with this website than you.

Swap trannies but make sure they give you some kind of warranty etc i.e the tranny youre getting does not have any bad synchros etc. Swap in youre lsd and while youre at it the ATS 4.9 final drive and LS 5th gear. Your 1-4 will be short geart for auto x and drag and you will have an overdrive 5th gear for highway cruising. I wish i had done that
I'm getting maybe 2 mpg less now with the tranny but i think thats because the car is a lot quicker now and i like to beat on it more

Go check out all Cusco, Spoon, Quaife application charts. I believe they have different applications for each transmission. Unless you know something that they or I dont, please let us know.
This is the reason I ask. They have different diffs for 1)Si and LS 2) GSR and ITR
That makes no sense to me, as all B series parts are supposed to be interchangable. Maybe I should ask this question in the Si forum
