Default wire install for xm radio

I have an '05 civic lx and I just got an xm radio for it. What is the best route to take with the antenna wiring if I have the antenna placed in the center right above the windshield? Which interior panels should I pull to get the wire into the cars interior.

The best place for the antenna is at the highest point of your car the(roof) is where almost all of them go. I put mine on the hood at the top center of the washer squiters, if you need more info let me know.

you may be able to use a tool with a bend at the end to tuck the wire between the dash and the windshield, take it to either front pillar and down into the dash that way. Then from there just run it to where ever your unit is installed

The "A" pillar trim is removable, [it unclips] that is all you should have to remove to run the ant. lead from under-dash up to the headliner, and you don't need to remove the headliner to run it under it, maybe the visor and mirror, [be careful not the damage the ant wire when reinstalling visor or mirror screws. 94

You don't need to remove any panels. The antenna wire can be run in beneath the weather stripping around the door frame, then between the "flap" of the stripping and the a-pillar garnish, then down the side of the dash and under, up to wherever your tuner is going...

lol ****.. i thought you said center of dash lol

I don't remember what the seal on the windshield of the newer civics looks like... but you should be able to use a smaller flat screw driver to tuck the wire under the seal.. then tuck it down along the edge of the windshield and tuck it under the "cowl" thing at hte base of the windshield. Tuck the wire behind the fender and into the door jam. pull back the weather seal for the door jam, run the wire behind and into the dash. Put the seal back and make it flush (but don't push too hard or the metal edge the seal goes over will cut the antenna wire!). then run to where ever your XM box is.

wow after reading that.. if you haven't done an install like this before and without pics.. you'll never understand what i ment lol
