My question is why do you need this in the first place? If you're racing competitvely enough that a bar of this caliber is vital to your suspension needs, you should have a full rollcage - which would obviate the need for such an expensive piece of bling. If you're not racing competitvely, you don't need this. Spend that $300-$600 on something that will make a difference you can feel every day like a racing seat or a better steering wheel, or HIDs or put it towards a turbocharger or something.

All these expensive bars and supports and so few people who understand the physics or importance of having them. For $600 my bone-stock suspension Si hatchback could outhandle just about anything else in its class: just add $150 in race-compound rubber at each corner and have at it .

I think there worth it. It's like having a roll cage without the hassle of one. Getting in and out of a car with a cage every day would suck. X bars help with body flex alot. If your back seats are removed I would say it would be neccesary to get an X bar. Think about it....the car has nothing bracing it horizontaly with the back seats removed. Plus they help with creks and rattles in your car.
