1st Gen CRX Question...
hey guys I have quite a simple question. I've been searching about swaps and such for the 1st gen crx's and there seems to be little info on them. I'm able to get ahold of a 1986 crx (not running for some unknown reason) for real cheap.
Being away from a honda for 2 years has made me forgotten a lot of things. Damn celica.
My question is....is it worth it to pick this crx up and work on it? Besides the early integra motor, how easy would it be to swap in say a d16z6 as opposed to swapping it into the later model crx's (89-91)? Looking to get back into the honda scene and go back to sohc turbo for now. Overall, will it just be more of a headache to work on things than a newer crx's?
thanks

As long as its an Si (fuel injected) and the suspension on body mount locations are not rotted, then hell yea. 1st gens are very affordable and very rewarding, however, very hard to come by.

It will be older and so some restoration is more than likely in order. Like I said, Si is the model you want because of F.I., unless you don't mind carburetors...
The biggest drawback imo is the lack of Honda's now infamous double wishbone suspension.
It's simplistic, it's logical, its a Honda!
