Best photos (of my car) of 2005
One advantage of racing in Quebec: they send a photographer to every race. The result is that we end up with some really professional looking photos at the end of the year. Here are some of the best of my car in the Quebec Touring and GTU series for 2005 (thanks to http://www.autocourse.ca)
1st round at St-Eustache

These photos helped me see that I had a broken gas tank strap!

Round 2, Sanair
These are the wheels I painted Milano red. They now look like crap because of brake dust.

Round 3, St-Felicien

Our first ever evening/night race

Round 4 Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres:
First time racing on a street course for me

The car I borrowed after blowing my engine... thanks Rob

Round 5, Sanair
There's some slight front end damage visible after a small incident (my fault) in practice.

No photos of rounds 6 and 7 since I DNS's after an engine failure in practice. 2005 is over for me race-wise.
Anyone else have some cool 2005 pics?

I dunno but my guess is that your car pushed a lot? It looks like you didnt have enough static front negative camber, but thats just my opinion based on the photos, especially when the front end is loaded.
Basied on my experience with spring rates and sway bars, camber settings seem to be the priority in proper traction control.

No, TK is run by Tom... I don't know Larry, but TK are Tom's initials, so I am surprised to find out that someone besides him ever ran the operation...

I don't know if it's because we run on street tires with less grip, but the static front camber of about 2 degrees worked quite well. Although the suspension was not optimised (we never installed anything to make the camber adjustable or a rear sway bar), the handling of our car seemed to be on par with the many of the much faster cars and we mainly lost out on power, sometimes giving up almost 100 whp to other cars in the class. Understeer was never a problem and we were able to do alot with tire pressure adjustments.
Although I believe efforts should be made to optimize a car, our philosophy was to install the parts we could afford to install and adjust what was adjustable: alignment, ride height and tire pressures. Items we did not have: rear sway bar, adjustable shocks, other springs and adjustable camber. We were one of the lowest budget teams in what is rapidly becoming a big-money series, so we tried to do what we could with the time and money we had.

understood, but front camber adjustability should have been in the budget over anything else. my opinion of course.
I lost lots of time (lap time that is) putting front camber arms at the bottom of my to buy list in the past.

Yes, we have the Echo Cup and the Honda Michelin Challenge series. The Honda series will run the '06 Civic next year (with a sub-class for the 04-05) while the Echo series has not yet determined whether it will run the new Yaris or the '05 Echo for one more year.

There are different logos for each series under the Federation Auto Quebec umbrella. The promoter is Autocourse.ca. The series are GTO/GTU, GT, Touring and F1600. Echo Cup and Honda Michelin have their own sanctioning bodies. Rumour has it they will race the Si version of the 06 Civic.

lol, i might come to mosport and the other grand am race thats one the oppiste coast (can't remeber the name, but i think its 3 rivers but in spanish).
I really like the idea of the class that Civic44 races in, seems like alot of the old WC cars go there. Plus the idea of racing an echo is just funny.
