Default Best year for hardtop?

I'm looking to buy a hardtop and I wanted to know what the best year for hardtop production was?

Can anyone help, I've done a search and can't find anything. Also, would the car go faster (or at least look faster), if I got a hardtop in a color that wasn't the same color as the car?

Thank you....sorry for being such a noob.

I just wanted to be apart of the group. It seemed to me that I was the only one that hadn't asked about the hardtop yet or about years of car. I decided to ask about years of hardtops....I wanted to consolidate my "initiation into H-T S2000 knowledge" into one thread.

So seriously, what year was the best for hardtops?

Did it stiffen the chassis up anymore than the '04 hardtops or was it because it didn't, that they switched over to glass windows from plastic ones?

S2k NUB,

Don't worry...I'm no NUB with S2000's or import tuning in general. I've owned mine ever since it came out back in 2000 (...yes I know some somehow got there's as early as Sept '99). I've been into (and doing) import tuning since '93...and no, I'm not that old.

I pretty much know all the S2K enthusiasts/owners in the Illinois area, hopefully you can make it out to a meet sometime soon.

OEM hardtops are no longer available. honda has stoped production because of low sales. Hardtopguy.com has bought the remaining hardtops from honda.

I doubt it because the old factory burned down or whatever. A new one was built, why shut it down right after just building it? Makes no sense
