Default Slightly OT: Spending habits of ITR owners on their R

I was just wondering how many of you set a limit on how much you are going to spend on the ITR??

And then I wonder how many people who are like me that dont set a limit??

I just buy whatever I want and when a good deal comes along i jump on it. The way I see it, if you are like me you will never be done putting money into either the car or track time with the car. Just trying to see what all of our spending habits are like. Maybe I'm one of the few crazy ones that doesn't care

I figure out what i wanna mod ie. intake, then shop for one that matches my budget. I would consider buying other stuff if the price is really cheap too

i probably wouldn't have spent as much money as i've had if i didn't know yoshi, mike, lloyd, marc, chris, ed, steve, christina, dennis, etc., etc. so i blame them all!

i would say that i'm very particular on the parts i get for my car. it takes several months before i actually give in and spend the money for the part. i don't think i ever bought something on impulse - that's just me.

Check sig. You ever seen that commercial about dude who has everything and then at the end they say "Well Bob how do you do it?" And then he replies with a big smile "I'm in debt up to my eyeballs, somebody help me"

For my ITR money is no object as long as I can make it!
My car is equipped with:
Mugen Exhaust
Mugen Intake
Mugen Suspension
Mugen Header
Mugen Strut Bars
Mugen N1 ECU
JDM ITR Airbag Wheel
JDM ITR Black Recaros

I worked my a$$ off to buy parts but well worth it as long as I keep her away from the theives.

The two things I dont mind spending money on are education and car parts, everything else is trivial.

I don't know what it is. But when I come across a good deal, I don't even think twice.

I wouldnt say I have a specific limit. If there is something I want, I buy it when I can afford it.

I spend what i can, if there is a deal then I pick it up. But honestly I have better things to spend my money on. I love the car to death but I refuse to go broke modding it.

Spending limit? What's that? lol.

I had a basic plan when I bought the car as to what parts I was going to buy. Not specific to brands at that point. I've probably got well over 10g's into the R and the internals are still stock AND I'm still going like the Energizer bunny

Exactly how I am. I've been meaning to get a bucket, steering wheel and harnesses for several months now. Still searching and deciding

so true..

<~paul who knows since he just spent some major $$ on brand new jdm oem headlights erghh... if a good deal comes along definitely jump on it if i can make it. If it werent for the headlights i think i'd probably pick up a set of mugen wheels from someone on the board to complete my wheel ***** collection.

What is a limit. If I want some specific mod I usually find the highest quality I can find and if I get a good deal all the better.

Well, I don't hold back, no spending limits for me, I spend whatever I want to: I fill the tank when it is empty, and I change the oil at least twice a year, whether it needs it or not!

I always set goals and list them according to what needs to be addressed first, then I go blow all of my money on **** that doesn't need to be addressed while I save my pennies for the important stuff. Case in point, I need to get the motor running in my race car, but I just dropped $160 on a new Fidanza flywheel when there's a perfectly good OEM one laying right next to the motor.

it will be endless.. trust me.
1st of all you will have to pay gas to drive your car.
your R's tire will wearout..
your R's brakes will wearout...
your R's rotor will wearout....
you will need new spark plugs....
lol.. not just that. there's always new stuff coming out .. and they are temping.
i never set my limits but i wish i have like 100,000 to drop on my car. if i had the money

I used to drop everything that I owned into the car, most of the time over spend and have to sell the parts to pay off the parts.

Just can't seem to justify spending $1200 on spoon calipers anymore or $2000 on zeal suspension. Back in the day, I could have bought those things in a heart beat.

It's hard to spend money on the car now that I have a lot of other expenses plus I rather spend my money on things I can enjoy more such as vacations.

i haven't bought anything "big". I remember when those rota slipstreams (that caused a bit of problems here) went on sale and was first posted in the norcalrcrew forum. I was going to jump on that deal, but i decided not to cause i wanted to wait one more week...then when it was posted here, i thought about it again and pmed the guy cause i had the money and i wasn't going to be spending the money on anything else but alas, it was too late. I'm regretting my first decision right now. Should have just bought it, was local too...

I don't really have a spending habit come to think of it. I research things im interested in, decide on it and save up for it. But i usually end up buying other non-car related things before i actually reach the amount i need and i end up forgetting to buy it.
