Default Just got a free insurance quote...

I went to Progressive online and got an insurance quote for a 2002 Kawasaki 500. Under driving history I put careless or improper operation, and my quote came to $1,157 a year. Than I added speeding to that, and it stayed at the same price. Isn't that a bit odd?

When I put a clear driving history, it's at $900 a year.

How is $1,157 a year anyways? With $175 initial, that's like $82 a month. I'm just 21. I hope to get my first bike sometime next summer. Right now I arbitrarily picked a bike that's something similar to what I might want, I was just curious to price something out to see what it came to.

That's an ok price. I got my first bike '04 Gsxr 600 when I was 21 with 1 ticket through state farm for $300 for 6 months w/250 deductible.

dang that's like half of what i was quoted for, and your bike is newer and faster. from my understanding state farm is cheap, but only if you have a car insured with them too. currently i'm just driving my dad's car, but when i get my own next summer i'll have to check into that.

That is an impressive price from that company. My quote from them was over 8000 bucks a year.

I only pay 600 a year through my current insurance company though, USAA, if you have any family members in the military, they can get you into USAA as well.

I pay $350 a year for coverage on my bike, and $650 a year for full coverage on my car. Thats less than coverage for you on your bike. Yay for me.

damn that would be nice.

here's a new question: i live in michigan, so i'd only be able to ride the bike like half the year. can you take it off the insurance or anything similar to that for the other half of the year? so i'm only paying insurance for about 6 months? (sorry i know nothing about insurance)

No I actually don't have my car insured under state farm. My integra is under Mercury, both have full coverage. So for those who says you need a car or some **** like that is false.

After the sixth or seventh time saying something, you tend to stray.
