how much hp can a dx clutch hold??
I put a t25 on my dx 2days ago, and clutch is already 50% gone! i havnt launched or full throttle shifted once, and its already going out fast! Just curious on what kind of torque a stock clutch can handle.
And i need a new clutch asap, whats the best bang for the buck clutch out there?
im looking to spend around $200-250

its obvious that you have to get a new clutch ....all i know is that sprung is easier on tranny when engaging into your gears and is better for daily driving. Unsprung are harder on the tranny but i believe do grab a little better but hard to drive if your car is daily .....not really daily driver clutch.
thanks guys! im looking on ebay, and ive found a couple i like. Like i said earlier, im only looking to spend about $250-$300 at most.
So my choices are i can get a clutchmaster stage2 6puk clutch wich holds 380tq w/ 1800lb. clamping load. for $270
or i can get a act stage1 w/street disk wich holds 300tq but also comes with a 8.8lb flywheel. so should i get the stronger clutch? or the clutch that includes a flywheel?? Will a lightened flywheel really do anything for my setup? Would it free up some hp? wich option should i do??

so far its narrowed down to these 2
heres the one w/flywheel

and heres the stage2 6puk one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem
so wich do you guys like better? and like i said, would it be worth it to get a flywheel? or will it not be worth it w/ my setup.
or this one that sells here on H-T no pic and not much info

I have an exedy stage 1 that you could probably use, Only $120. Its got about 40k on it.
Click on my sig for pictures
You dont need a racing clutch with what your puttin to the wheels. Just go with any stage 1 and you should be fine. Of course i had an exedy so im partial to them.

You defintely dont need the stg 2 6puk with what your putting down. Overkill. You lose driveability.
The stg1 would be better for you and the 8.8lb flywheel will free up some HP for your 1/4 mile but may reduce driveability and MPG. Basically because your flywheel wont have as much inertia as before, when you let off the gas your car may lurch more and be more sensitive at low RPM's. Also, with a lack of inertia, it would take more gas to keep it going.
If you dont understand the concept, think about a civic and a mack truck hauling 10 cars. Both are going 50 mph but one obviously has more force behind it.

well i was more interested in the stage2 6puk cause in the long run, i plan to have around 280whp by next summer and also want a clutch that will last a long time.
do you think i would feel any difference with a flywheel??

There's gotta be something wrong with those, everyone else and their momma is selling the civic exedy stage 1 clutch for $270. I dont care how many postive feedbacks people receive, its usually just related to speed of the shipping on 9/10's of the feedbacks anyways.
Modacar is pretty cheap and they have theirs for $270

As far as the clutch, it gives a stronger feel. It holds onto the flywheel better when you rev it up. No slip once i put one on. I would defintely recommend this but even if you dont buy from me, i would be warry of ebay.....that **** could be some fake xedy (e missing on purpose) ****

I was checking out that company and they have some seriously low ( like 5 finger by the truckload low ) prices on a lot of their stuff. Either its fake or they're seriously undercutting their profit margin.....thats why i hate ebay, theres no detailed feedback and it takes forever to get through all the feedbacks if people have a lot. Good luck on ordering though, and good luck on your car NOT eating through clutches....you double clutching granny

OEM and stage 1 clutches are a little different... the stage 1 clutch can hold a little more power than the OEM clutch
