Default Question about Koni shocks and ground control

Hi, i searched but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I'm looking to buy a used set of ground control coilovers sleeves, but the problem is they are not made specifically for Koni shocks. Right now I have Koni reds on my car. My question is, can I still install the ground control onto my Koni reds w/o buying a "ring adapter"? I've been searching and saw some pictures of how ground control are installed on Tokico blue shocks, and the sleeves appear to sit just right on top of the spring seat, correct? Would it be possible to do the same to the Koni shocks? By the way, my car is a 1994 Honda civic dx coupe if it matters. I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Steven

Do NOT just put a threaded sleeve on a Koni spring perch that sits on a circlip in a groove. You must have a properly fitted sleeve system that has a machined groove on the bottom side to swallow and capture the circlip. Some sleeve systems are the correct inside diameter to fit the Koni shock and have a groove machined in one end for the groove. If not, then use some adapter ring that has the groove and makes a platform for the sleeve to sit squarely and centered on.

If the sleeve is not kept centered and loaded squarely on a captured ring, you take inadvisable chances to have a problem. It is neither difficult nor expensive to make it right.
