Pulled for the winter!!!
Well I pulled my car from the road today for the winter. I will definately miss driving the R, I always do. I had two sales fall through and gave up because I was so frusterated with dealing with idiots. I just got a 99 Jeep XJ for the winter and I have already started purchasing parts for this new build. I decided to go the opposite direction with this one.

And our intake temps wont be 130 degrees.
In Arizona its like you have the intake temps of a JRSC with out any of the boost!

Well I just orderd a lift kit from Rubicon Express and I am looking to get a set of 30x9.5 BFG All Terrain tires and have them mounted on black American Racing D-Ring rims. From there I am not really sure.

that's sweet, my buddy has a Rubicon as well as a seriously built off road 89 Wrangler. I am really looking forward to getting into off roading, the past times that I have gone I loved it. But I will keep you posted on my new project.

Off-roading is alot of money!! There are just too many things to buy, and you have to worry about breakage.

Rust repair
It has 4" Superlift spring lift, 1" rear shackles, 33x12.50's on 15x10 wagon wheels, Kayline soft top, Smittybilt bar, etc. But the rockers and part of the floor pan have rotted out, just like every other Scout on the planet.
I've got to order new outer pans (easy to find, thankfully), and a buddy and I are going to fab up some rocker panels, along with new seat mounts. I'm going to put buckets out of something in it, just don't know what yet. Oh, and a frame tie-in kit for the roll bar.

I'm in the same situation..people say they are"serious buyers" with cash in hand and they never show up.
So the R is in the garage for the winter and I plan to detail every inch of it while its out of service

Sounds like you've got some work ahead of you
, Rust is a PITA, I use some stuff called POR15. After every wheelin session I clean the heep and apply this stuff to any open wounds. Its suppose to stop rust, you can apply it directly to rust and it stops it from spreading. Its worked so far with me, After you get your scout up to par I highly recommend this stuff.

Yeah, I'll be using some of that, too
The rockers are basically gone, and the floor pan rot is right around the body mounts, so it's just not safe without repair. Not to worry, she'll be back on the road better than ever
