b18c swap, few questions
I am planning to swap in my friends gsr motor, and i have a few technical issues to work out.
1 - his motor is obd 2. i have my car already converted to obd 1 with a P08 ecu that i plan to use. what kind of things will i have to change to make the motor run obd 1? im assuming i need another distributor, and some wiring alterations, but what is really involved with this process?
2 - a/c. i am planning to use hasport for engine mounts, and i know they offer an adapter so i can use my a/c compressor. am i going to need a special a/c belt to make this work? any info on the issue is greatly appreciated.
3 - transmission stuff. the gsr tranny is hydro, and has long gears. im thinking of trading the gsr for a ys1 cable tranny. if that doesnt work out, im proabably gonna just put a shorter final drive and an lsd into the gsr tranny. how hard is the hydraulic tranny conversion, as in, what needs to be done? also, if i need to interchange between electronic and cable speed sensors depending on what cluster i decide to use, is this something that can be easily done?
4 - axles. i've heard that i can use da integra axles for the crx si. is this true for this application? could i not just swap the inside boots(the ones that go into tranny) with gsr boots on my d-series axles if the da ones dont work?
thanks for any help
