Default axel cv boot Q? (did search)

97 gsr got in wreck fliped onto roof, my drivers side axel was pulled out of cv boot ripping boot in half but there is no visable damage to either side axel, they were fine before the wreck, im realy strapped for cash since im rebuilding the teg witha paintless interiorless engineless shell. do i need jus new cv boots and the lil sealed bearings inside the boot or whole new axles. they look visibly true and not bent or have any chips scratches or cracks. also can i even purchase the lil sealed bearings from anywhere or jus a complete axle. im not realy interested in the idea or riskin my engine to poorly rebuilt autozone axles either and if im buyin new ones theyll probably be raxles at 150 a pop.

did search but didnt find any topics this specific.

ps: the motor is bone stock and only mods i plan on doing are i/h/e if i supercharge it ill buy new axles anyways

go to monument car parts. 59.99 per side with core, there is one in pacheco or concord, better made than the autozone axles

You can rebuild the axle side that was exposed, if you feel comfortable working on axles. Or maybe a drive shaft shop can assemble the exposed side for a reasonable price. Personally, I would not take the chance of something happening to it and just replace the axle. Also, the only real way to tell if the axle shaft is true, is to have it spun and checked.

Well, one way I can assume is if the axle were to snap on the passenger side, and the piece still connected to the tranny were to lodge against something, it may bust the differentials since one side would be locked up while the other side would want to freely spin...???
