Qudos on your ambition to take on this project (we expect a full report!) . Although I'm still happily futzing around with the three 5th gens that still grace our driveway, I'll be reading with interest your efforts.
If there's anything I can find in the other (Gasp) Forums I lurk thru, I'll give you a "heads up' so's you can take a look too.

a 2003 accord has a K24 in it...no need to take that out in place of a H22

bingo. and have fun turbocharging it since the exhaust manifold is part of the head.

Are you sure about the head/manifold thing. The Honda Parts book shows it seperately. IE: L4 2.3L head detail

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...L4%29

You will note that there's something "missing" from the 'front' of the head......

Looks like it takes nuts', bolts and gaskets like all the rest of 'em

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...L4%29

He may have to scare up a custom manifold (not like that hasn't been done before), but a turbo should be possible.

thats only for the new J series V6 motors that the exhaust manifold is cast to the head. theres are ways to get around that as well, as it is not exactly the same, continous piece of metal...

a single turbo on a K24 would not be too difficult at all...in fact i know theres already plenty of kits for it

Although you changed the year of the vehicle discribed, the same applies. This time you'll be dealing with the f23 varients of engine.

Here's a vendor for some F23 2002 Accord kits, read up.

edited for stupid typo: Ment F23, not H23

i would say build for turbo, but i cant talk i am going with the h22a, but i think if i had a f23 i would keep it and build it to be a sohc turboed killer, how much cash do you plan on dumping into it [if i can ask] good luck

not sure if you've said it or not before, but if its an automatic, you might SERIOUSLY wanna consider doing a manual conversion

My tranny went BOOM!

And don't cheap out. Get a quality build done right the first time. I'd suggest learning everything about turbos right now because you seem to want one but you dont know exactly what is needed to do it right. And then make sure everything is good.
