Fuel Pressure drop
fellas, i have 88 civic dx that i swaped to MPFI about a month ago and am still having drivabelity problems that I beleive is being caused by low fuel pressure. Will this swap cause premature failure of fuel pump or should i have crx si fuil line from fuel filter to fuel rail. Outside of that what wold cause fuel pressure to drop. Fuel pressure drops and causes car to run lean and trigure code 1 on ecu which is o2 sensor. Car takes a while to start(low fuel pressure) and we have put fuel pressure gauge on car while it is running fine and fuel pressure is only 32 psi and I beleive this car should be between 35-40. Any ideas on why FP is so low. I know this is a long post but is going on a month now and I have know idea what is wrong with Kristine....ah......
have u changed the fuel filter??also the fliter thats attatched to the pump could be clogged....doesnt seem like a pump/injector kind of an issue cuz it still has pressure so i would say check the filter/s and go from there to the lines and make sure they r all clean....sometimes if u run it low on gas it can suck up junk from the bottom of the fuel tank and cause low pressure...good luck
