You probably have something in your fan. I had a leaf get sucked into mine before. You will just need to unbolt the fan (3 bolts if I remember correctly), which is behind the glove box, and see what is caught in your fan.
all i know is its damn annoying. this afternoon im going to pull the glove box out and see what it is. i have to turn the radio up just to drown it out. i'll post and tell you if it fixes it or not

it was a was a leaf in mine...i just turned it off and then on high a couple of times and it got rid of the obstruction itself
Ya my fan did that too. It was a leaf stuck in it. just mess with the power settings low to high eventually it will suck through. or you can take your vent assembly apart and pull whatever is in there out. If thats not the case then you might need to realine your fan bacause its rubbing on a side. Happened in my old car. I just added a washer and it worked fine after that.
This story is actually kinda funny, but I had the same problem. There was a VERY annoying ticking type noise coming from the vents, and a vibration from behind and under the glovebox, and it got louder when you turned the fan higher. I figured it was a leaf, but I fooled around with it for a while and it didn't go away, and it lasted about a month before I brought it to the dealer and had them take a look at it. Somehow chipmunks had been getting into my garage, and they had been putting acorn and peanut shells into my fan cage....so on the paperwork it said "removed nuts from fan cage" and they charged me 35 bucks for it. If you can do it yourself, save the money, there's probably a leaf in your fan.
I pulled the glove box out and looked and didnt find anything. Mine sounds more like its coming from the vent beside the windshield.
