I've narrowed it down to two pads..
Carbotech XP10's
or
Cobalt Friction Cobalt spec(VR)
Which is the best pad money can buy?
Thanks In Advance.

so which one is less prone to fading? They are roughly the same price thats why.

you'll have a hard time fading either one of those. The only difference that I can think of depends on our applicaion.
For some cars Carbotech may use a thicker backing plate, and for other cars, it's the other way around.
A thicker backing plate means a little less brake material, but a better resistance to bending.
hth.

they both have about the same grip, and I have never had either fade on me so do what I did:
try them both and see how many track days you get out of each. Then look at $$/day, and go with the one that is less.
For me it was the Cobalt Friction Spec. VR's but this will vary for different cars and drivers.

I have run both, and find that the XP10's wear rather quickly under very hard use(3 tracks days per front set for two sets tried), but brake well and do not fade. They are pricey per mile! I think the VR's lasted longer, but I have worn a few sets of pads since I bought those and I am braking a lot harder now, so under the same use they might not last any longer. I am now running Pagid RS19 yellow Endurance pads that won LeMans with the Porsche GT3's without a pad change, and they are lasting a lot longer. They are only available in ITR front size though last time I checked.
The 2 pads are very comparable. I have never faded either one and the longevity is about the same. I prefer the "feel" of the XPs over the VRs, particular the initial bite of the XPs.

Pagid's are $199 and I got them from KingMotorsports. I think they will be a much better deal per track mile. I haven't worn a set out yet so I don't know for sure, but I just thought the cost per mile for those XP10's was way too high for me. Then again, I like to stop fast. Slow costs I guess, how fast do you want to slow down?

i haven't personally but the general concensious here is that they are both good pads.

I'll look more into the Pagid pads. I'm pretty much set on getting the cobalt frictions for now and maybe the xp10s next, and then the Pagid.

There isn't much point in comparing quoted friction coefficients between different pad manufacturers, just across same brand.

Pagid Yellows are the shizzle for endurance racing.
AFAIK, all the pad vendors purchase their backing plates from the same sources, so that really shouldn't be an issue. Just ask them if you don't believe me.
Spec VRs on all our cars (except at enduros over 4 hours).

I've never driven on Ferodos. I thought at one time I heard they were seriously expensive.
When I drive my own ITS/H3 Integra GS-R, I run Carbotech XP9s. Haven't tried a production XP10, I fallowed the car about when those came out. I really like the Carbotech pads.
The car that I'm actually driving this year, Catch 22's car, has Cobalt *somethings* on it. I like those fine too.
Something somewhat off topic that I just noticed - it really pleases me that I don't have to care about the kind of brake pad I'm racing with. I just show up and they work. You guys really have to try this "rent a front running car" thing.
On edit: I say just try one of them, use them until they wear out, and if you liked them, stick with them. If you didn't, try another. They're all good, and they're all different in subtle ways. Brake pad technology has moved forward a whole hell of a lot in the past five years.

Your *** is getting spoiled.
You've won 4 races this year and I'm not sure you have even gotten your shirt dirty.
BTW - I liked the Ferodos on my Integra. Also liked the Hawk Blue (but they were HARD on the rotors) and the Carbotech (it was the XP 08 back then I think).
On the Civic I use the Cobalt Spec B exclusively. I wont even consider anything else. We haven't managed to fade them yet (not even in a 2 hour enduro at CMP) and one set nearly lasts an entire season.
