i'm still running stock fuel pump o\from my 92 civic vx and i've got over triple stock horsepower.

if you have a chipped ECU and a wideband you'll see that when you're at prefect air/fuel, even at 100% throttle and redline you're probably not even in the %90s on injector duity cycle.
