rear disc brake question.....
wont converting the rear drum brakes to disc brakes have some effect on our parking brake as in make it in-operative or just defeat the purpose the e-brake? somebody correct me if im wrong but when you pull up the e-brake doesnt it start pressing the shoes against the drum?
I have seen people do the conversion by just changing the entire control arm. That is what my autos instructor is doing to his 92 Civic. He bought Integra rear control arms and since they already have disc brakes he just needs to put all new bushing in them and then swap them in. Seems like it might be a bit cheaper than a professional disc conversion kit.
Rear discs have an e-brake also. When you swap out ther drums for discs you hook up the e-brake cables like normal and you have an e-brake. Maybe i misunderstood your question though
i seen people change whole the whole thing too.but i was doing a brake job this week end and i think but not sure if u take off the the drum **** and the back plate.the mounting bracket should fit right on the the rotor the slap the calibor on.if this will work would anyone let me know??????
ya that kind of answered my question. but what i was really trying to say is that lets that that i use my e-brake, will if still be functional and hold my car in place without having it roll to where ever?? i know this isnt the greatest question but im just curious to know and get more understanding.
