Default Need some pointers on JDM d15B vtec swap into 91 crx HF

I purchased a JDM d15b vtec off of ebay for a very reasonable price. It has 27k and is advertised at 130 HP. The engine cam with the intake manifold and MPFI injection system. I know I will need a new tranny as the HF tranny has very tall gears but what else will need to be done? I am thinking I may need a new ECU with wiring harness but am not entirely sure. I will be purchasing an Apexi VAFC for vtec control and tuning so an ecu with a vtec control will not be necessary. Please advice.

Thanks

just get a p28 and a non-obd to obd1 conversion harness...

Is this the only way to do it? I didn't think the conversion was necessary as long as I have the VAFC to control vtec. But this is my first swap into an HF. When I swapped the d16y8 into my SI I didn not need a new harness. But, if a p28 and harness is the only way to go, it's not a problem.

Its not the only way to go, but the highly suggested way to go.

You can keep the engine harness from your hf, leave that. If you want, you can wire the VAFC to kick in vtec. Get a PM6 ecu and run the VAFC with that.

Use an Si transmission. Search is the main thing I can suggest.

Will the hf engine harness plug into a pm6 without modification?

Thx for the useful info, I am looking to do the swap this coming weekend so I will need to get the ECU and anything additional in as soon as I can. Is ebay the best source for a pm6 or p28?

The pm6 will plug into the HF ecu harness plugs. I would go with the p28 and the obd1 harness converter. Much simpler in terms of wiring and you will have the limitless obd1 p28.
