For all those who think Sport Compact Racing is growing, I'm watching ESPN2 right now, and they are having the U.S. National Championship of Jump Rope.. If jump rope can get an hour during prime time and Sport Compact racing can't, things can't be going well. They are good though...LOL

you aint kidding my gf wont let me change the channel now.
gotta give it up though they are some jumpin ******!
couple months ago i stumbled on G4 (which i didnt know i had) and saw 2 HOURS of drift coverage! every qualifing run, every elimination round, interviews, the whole shebang. i mentioned this to someone and they countered with "its G4, how many homes do you think actually have that?" so i guess at least for a promotional standpoint were lucky that we are on espn2 for that half hour. i like how they did the vegas race. showing each class one at a time and showing the full ladder. theyre getting more action in that half hour.
i think in time when we more competitors and closer racing well get there. but for now its the world series of checkers getting the shine.

Well John if it was jumping roping followed by Sport Compact Racing, followed by the national spelling bee contest then everything would be great right?..haha
More like a kick in the nuts if they did that....
On a side to jack John's thread(haha)...anyone goin to the Powerade Las Vegas or Pomona events, swing by the Naylor Racing Pro Stock pits and say hi(John, Earl, and others)

i get the g4 channel with comcast. they have a show called street fury that's pretty much like a ghey street racing/import car show. they show some real street races, car shows, and a little tech stuff like brake upgrades and a role bar on a drifting 240. nothing special.. i used to record it but it just got too lame so i stopped.

Yeah, unfortunately nhra is horrible at marketing and the espn 2 coverage is some of the worst, they had the whole US nationals coverage summed up in 30 seconds, it was a joke.
NHRA is getting better. They are really taking a proactive approach at getting better veiwing time and at marketing the industry as a whole. I think that is just takes time. I know that has been said time and time again, but it's true. Building a fan base for our sport is not as easy as it seems.
