ive looked all through my manuel and can not find anything that has to do with the d4 light blinking all the time. im dealing with the srs light right now and am not sure if that in anyway has to do with it.

The srs light would not have anything to do with the d4 light flashing. The d4 light flashes to indicate a fault in the transmission control system. This could be caused by a failed sensor, like a countershaft speed sensor, or a range (PRNDL) switch that has failed or is unplugged. The easiest way to determine this is to retrieve the trouble code. You would need to jump the service connector and count the flashes the D4 light gives you.... then post your findings
