Default Keyed paint, any way to fix?

When i got my car back from the thieves who wanted it more than me, they had decided to key certain areas. I was wondering, is there is any way to buff the marks out, without a complete respray? It looks like they only got as deep as the clearcoat, and not down to the paint. But I could be wrong.

I have not yet taken my car to a body shop, or detailing place yet. I figured I would ask here first.

Thanks

it looks pretty bad.....you could try buffing it out but i doubt it'll do much good, just get a respray and find a garage to park it in

Thanks for the info. Now I need to finda decent place out here.

There is a story, and a big long thread in the EG/EK forum, form a few months ago.

Cliffs notes version:
-Wife drove car to work
-Wife parked car in unsecured area
-thieves strolled through
-thieves tried a few other cars
-thieves took my car
-security caught it all on tape
-security sipped their coffee and watched
-thieves drove off
-2weeks later thieves dumped car

They were not in it for parts, or the car would have been stripped clean. I think they just needed a ride for a few days.
