Default Rubber Piece?

Alright so i have a 95 accord LX AT. Around the shift ****, there is a piece of rubber, almost like a border around that shift column. I broke mine and i was wondering if any one has that to spare, or what it is actually called so i can look for it. Thanks

i think it is called a lip but i am not positive. it is probably going to be pretty easy to find at the junkyard or just go to your local dealer and get it. i don't imagine it would be too much and it would be new too. if it is the lip like i am thinking it is, it is only like $5 new. And this is off topic but you have any pics of you car with those wheels? just looking to get some wheels and trying to see what some look like on. thanks and hope this helps

I believe you are talking about your CD player trim? It also surrounds your cd player/deck and also your shifter correct? Then thats your Cd player trim.

No it isnt around my CD player. Ill see if i can explain it a little better...OK so theres the shift ****...and around the shift **** there is a plate, that has the 1 2 D3 and D4 R P and whatnot, around that plate there is a thin rubber moldingthat goes around the rectangle. I thought i saw it on my local honda dealers website for 5 bucks but then guy i talked to at the dealer said 20. I really dont want to pay 20 bucks for a ltitle piece of rubber. ALSO, i am not even sure it was the right part i was looking at, there really is no piture of it, just a drawn diagram.

O and vteccruiser, i will post pictures as soon as i can find them

that rubber piece is considered a lip. i looked it up on a honda dealership diagram, with the picture of it and the price for it said $5. make sure the guy who checked for you was explaining it right to the dealer. here is the url for a diagram of the interior of your accord. http://www.hondaautomotivepart...NSOLE

the piece i am pretty positive you are talking about is labeled 18. hope this helps in you finding a replacement and maybe explaining it to your dealer.

Yeh, i think we are thinking of the same piece. The thing is though...i didnt describe it to him, i just gave him the part number and he looked it up. I am going to try and find a way around getting that piece. I jus tput a boot around my shifter but that rubber piece was the only thing holding the boot on, thats why i need it. (i ripped the old one trying to take it off) So if i can find a way to secure the boot without that, i will do so.

there was a post earlier in this forum about making your automatic look like a manual with a shift boot. i went on e-bay and found a place that actually makes boots for this purpose and put the url on that thread. now i don't know how to secure them, but i figure that with something like that, that is designed for that exact application, would have some way to secure it. don't know if you need the rubber piece though. also in that thread some guys were saying how they attached the boot.
