Default Shift linkage issues...someone please help

My **** keeps rattling, I don't know wtf it is. It only does it at around 2-3k rpm...here is what happens:

Rev it, hold the RPM in the right spot to hear the rattling. I move my shifter up and down, and the rattling stops and starts. I know it's in my shift linkage/maybe shift lever.

I looked at it, and there is some play on the reverse lever on the tranny end of it. Same thing with the regular shift linkage.

I don't know where the hell this rattling is coming from, it's annoying the expletive out of me, it's not a heat shield or anything.

Thanks in advance for any input

do you have an aftermarket exhaust? somtimes the shifter vibrates from being too close to the exhaust

Is there a short shifter? Did you replace the shift bushings? They could be bad and allow the lever the rattle.
