crane cams?
I'm buliding my jdm b18b and I was wondering if anyone's using the crane cams 101-0012...my compression will be 11.0:1 and I will be using arp rod bolts!!! I'm wondering if my stock valve spring and retainers are ok for these cams???
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
they aren't in anybody's cars b/c nobody bothers finding better products or prices and just gets skunk2 or crower or something. crane is good stuff and has better prices. in fact crane makes crower's billet cores.

i was gonna get some the other day... like last week.. this guy told me that the crane cams were pretty good. like a regular set as in a "mild" stage or something should work fine with your stock valves and everything...
only the stock grind and the one bigger can be used with stock valvetrain and only at stock redline. anything more than that and you'll need a valvetrain. i'm using crane's non-VTEC valvetrain in my LS at 7000rpm with crower 404 cams (got a deal on them i couldn't pass up) and the valvetrain is fine. crane says they're good for 10,000RPM and 0.500" lift at the valve, fyi, and they're single springs, not dual, and come with titanium retainers.
Crane has just not made it big in the import world. When i got mine i had a few guys tell me they make great cams.
I pick up a set of 12's from a guy here on HT and he said he used them on stock valve train with no problems. He said they made good power on the low to mid range, nothing much on the high, but did not loose anything either.
