93 hatch gas door wont open
yeah like the title says my gas door wont open i have removed the cover surrounding the lever for the trunk and the gas door and i can see the line moving for the gas door and the one for the hatch works fine i dont know what to do from here though any info would be great thanx
you can take out the interior lining and pop the lock from inside, meaning you can take out the popper that holds it in place... then gat yourself a new cable.
Are you sure the door spring is not missing or broken. This is very common. If so go to the dealer and get one. there like $3-$5 bucks new and just slide into place.
im not quite sure whats going on with it i took the lever off and pulled on it and i can hear it sounding like its trying to open but its just not opening do u think that its sounds like the spring is broken and where is the spring located thanx

Sounds like the spring. Try to stick something under the lever or have a friend hold the lever up and you stick a credit card in the gap and pop open the door. There should be no resistance. What happens is: there is a small pin that sticks out and catches the door to prevent it from opening. Then when the pin is detracted ( by pulling the lever ) the sping pops the door open. No sping, door no open. The sound you hear is probably the pin moving. The spring is actually a folded piece of metal that is folded in such a way that it causes springing action. It is located on the fuel door itself. Yours is either broken or missing.
