ARRC Test Day!
Phone calls from the racers to Road Atlanta inquiring about the Test Day prior to the ARRC did not go unheeded. Through the efforts of Joey Greene, VP of Operations at Road Atlanta, there will be a full Test Day on Thursday prior to the ARRC.
Call Road Atlanta for information and Registration at 770.967.6143.

I got the word from the Atlanta Region SCCA Regional Executive and may have been one of the first to get the news after the decision was made by Road Atlanta. Maybe Joey hadn't spread the word around the offices at Road Atlanta yet.

Well, somebody let us know when they get through and the admin person answering the phone has gotten the news. She refused to even forward me to sombody else.
"Sir, There is no test day. We've had a bunch of calls and I can promise you that the school is using the track that day."

I would never have thought this would happen, to have a Panoz activity re-schedule on a track owned by Mr.Panoz himself in favor of an SCCA event. But then that's why never say never.
The weekend is going to be insane. It looks like all the entry fees, tires, brakes, etc. is going to cost me more than all the racing I did this year. I don't even want to think about it, it's both a very exciting and frightening thought. If the car still happens to be in one piece on Sunday morning, it's ON Mr.1.6L Miata driver, who's not even scared of the big and bad 1.8L Mazda brothers that will soon terrorize ITA.
And hey, if we can't keep up with you, well I can just blame a co-driver or something.
So that's going to be a half a test day + at least 3 qualifying sessions + two 20 laps races + a 3 hour enduro, for a total of over 6 hours of track time. Most of which will be run all out. Teggy will be getting the mother of all workouts.

^^ So is this "the shoe" in the #84 car?^^
I'm not sure there's going to be any of that car left by Sunday afternoon.
Heh, we signed our "shoe" this evening.
Shhh... Its a secret. We'll just call him "The Stig" (whatever the hell that means).

Well that is the plan B anyway, and there must always be a plan B, just in case! Plan A is to execute as swiftly as possible your sig. Then you are right, there won't be an opportunity. But you had to make public the master plan didn’t you. RacerBowie must be having second thoughts now that the master Plan has been revealed... haven't heard a peep out of him.

That is because when RacerBowie is on his own nickel, he is usually far away from the computer! (or at least in the next room watching football)
In the immortal words of Herr Autenbauer: "We fear no one. We are slightly worried by the Americans, the Italians, the Germans, and the French. Apart from that we are supremely confident. There will be a formal press release after our victory." (free 6 pack of German beer at the ARRC for anyone who can place that quote)
But, with the return of the test day, we are "supremely confident". The co-driver, "Mr. S" (Snow, Schumacher, what's the difference?) will get his 2 or 3 sessions during the test day and be ramped up to speed nicely.
My biggest worry is how Fred will hold up over the 2 days of heavy alcoholism during the sprint races.
I am moderately concerned about not being right beside you guys when the Integra falls into 1.2 million pieces, but I plan to solve that by checking out over the first few laps.

Even being an Integra driver myself, I found that funny as hell.
I'm currently in the planning process of possibly putting together a "enduro plan" myself. I'm not confident yet that the Integra wouldn't go through tires and brakes too much for an enduro. But I know of a certain ITC car that sips on gas and could go an entire season on a set of tires and brake pads.
(It wouldn't be the CX so don't get too excited, Scott. It's way too beat up right now for the track - stupid SM drivers.)

Bring that old rat trap on down here. We need more C cars to beat.
Me no worry. We have The Stig.
And strangely, Karl feels better now <shrug>.

Just be careful and let's not get cocky. Last time one of us got cocky, they drove into the RE.

From the sound of things, he isn't even going to be driving... If Giles was on my team and not driving, I would be pretty cocky too. Your chances of the car lasting for 3 hours just exponentially improved!!!!!
(Scott, love ya, mean it)

The only people that HAVEN'T ran my car into something are The Stig and... Me.
And the list of drivers in the #22 car is pretty long.

Somewhere between Cocky Karl, who we've met, and Capitulation Karl, who we've also met, there is Fastest Race Lap Karl, who we've also met. I like that last guy the best.
Maybe we should change your nickname from Rice to Sybil.
Scott, who figures his time is coming, but hopes its not in exactly one month.

I'm just spreading the potshots around, creating goodwill, etc.
Be nice and maybe we will push you guys down the straight a lap or two...120+ in an ITC car sounds fun!

Fortunately we've got this test day now to summon Fastest Race Lap Karl. I like him too.
